Meet Our


Dr. Kerri Zavota
Received her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Glasgow in Scotland.  After graduation she went on to complete a 13 month internship at the University’s small animal hospital,where she spent much of her time managing critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. In 2010 Dr.Z left the UK for sunny Florida and has been working in the field of veterinary emergency care since her arrival. Her special interests include emergency and critical care, anaesthesia/analgesia and neurology. She is a member of the AVMA, FVMA, VFVMA, AAHA and the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons).

drandrewsDr. Katherine Andrews
Dr. Andrews graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Surgery in Edinburgh Scotland in 2012. She then worked in private practice where she worked with a myriad of animals from bald eagles to squirrels, the occasional tiger, and of course, dogs and cats. She joined the team at VECEV in 2016 and is currently studying for her acupuncture certification which she will complete in December 2016. Dr. Andrews is mom to a paraplegic bulldog, a fat cat, and the cutest pony. When she’s not at work, she’s riding and competing with the superpony in 3 day eventing.

Dr. Jessica Russell

Dr. Russell received her degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in Saint Kitts and Nevis, and spent a year of clinical education at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She relocated from Pennsylvania to Florida in June 2016 and started working in emergency and critical care.  Special interests include emergency/critical care medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology. She is a member of AVMA.

Jennifer Jones, Office Manager
Jennifer is a Florida native and has been working in the veterinary field for over 10yrs. She favors emergency medicine for its day to day variance and interaction with patients. She’s an animal advocate and foster Mom for an animal rescue. She also has several cats and dogs whom she adopted from local rescues. She has a soft spot for scruffy terriers and orange cats.

Emily Rosenfeld
Emily was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to Florida in 2010 to attend Stetson University. She is pursuing a degree in biology and hopes to eventually apply to veterinary school. Emily has been in the veterinary field since 2002, and enjoys working in both day practice and emergency medicine. She enjoys the relationships developed between clients and patients from puppyhood to senior care in day practice and the excitement and adrenaline of emergency medicine.In 2005 Emily drove to Louisiana to assist in the recovery and reuniting of pets with their owners after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. It was one of the most rewarding and eye opening experiences of her life. Emily shares her home with her boyfriend and their 5 dogs and 3 cats!

Billy Blackwell
Billy was born and raised in Ormond Beach, Florida. He began working in shelter medicine/surgery immediately after high school where he developed valuable skills and an interest in veterinary medicine. Billy has been comparing CVT courses and hopes to enroll in the fall semester. At home he has 3 cats and a 5 year old Cane Corso that he rescued.

Erin Noe 
Erin is from Austin, Texas.  After working at small animal clinics in Ft. Lauderdale and Virginia, she moved to Daytona Beach in 2013. She has over ten years experience in caring for animals. Erin currently works at a local daytime veterinary practice, along with working nights at VECEV. Erin has a particular interest in emergency medicine and behavioral medicine.  When Erin is not caring for patients she enjoys spending time with her son and gardening (she has a book!).

Courtney McDonald, CVT
Courtney was born and raised in North Pennsylvania. She graduated from Johnson College with an Associate’s Degree in Science Veterinary Technology in 2010. She then became licensed as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Pennsylvania. She moved to Daytona Beach with her boyfriend in 2011. After moving she also became licensed as a Certified Technician in Florida. She received her Career Diploma for Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor. Taking interest in pet nutrition she became a Veterinary Nutritional Advocate for Hill’s Pet Nutrition and a Certified Pet-Nutrition Consultant/Certified Weight Coach for Purina. She is also certified using in class IV Therapeutic Lasers: Companion Laser and K-Laser.  Courtney now lives in Port Orange with her boyfriend and their 8 fish tanks with assorted freshwater fish. Beginning of 2013 she started to work at Pet Street. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach and collecting seashells and reading books. She has a strong interest in marine life and hopes someday to further her education in Marine Biology.

Nicoletta Holby
Nicoletta was born in Detroit and grew up in South Florida. After receiving her undergraduate in Micro-Molecular Biology from UCF, she continued her education at FGCU while working for rescue groups and Humane Societies. Nicoletta works at a local daytime veterinary practice, along with working at VECEV. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. Her hobbies include traveling the world, working out, riding motorcycles, cooking and shopping.

Lisa Nygren
Lisa was born and raised in the Daytona Beach area and has been working in the veterinary field since 1999. She currently works at a local day practice as well as VECEV. Lisa spends all her free time with her daughter, 2 dogs and 3 cats. One day she hopes to have a big enough house to bring home a few senior pets to live out their golden years and be happy, comfortable and loved.

ravenRaven Camp
Raven was born and raised in Ohio. Since a young age Raven has always loved animals. Through high school she worked closely with a variety of animal programs in both 4-H and FFA. In 2010 she moved to Florida and started working at a day practice shortly after. This is where she developed her interest in veterinary medicine. After receiving her Veterinary Assistant Certification she was excited to join the VECEV team and continue her learning focusing on emergency medicine. Raven enjoys the variety of cases seen working at VECEV. She hopes to continue her education in the veterinary field. Raven spends her free time with her herd of animals including her many cats, hounds, rabbit, and horse.
